We are looking to recruit a Engineer (Highway and Civils) for our client.

Location:  Winchester (Development Control team)

Requirements for the role:

• To prepare the highway authority response to larger applications referred to Headquarters. To negotiate contributions and off site highway works for straight forward and assist in doing so for the larger more complicated sites . To advise District Councils on progress and likely response to applications.
• Responsibility to provide the highway advice on selected planning applications referred to the County Council within the agreed timescales.
• Managed responsibility to assist with the response to strategic planning applications referred to the County Council.
• Liaise regularly with Local Planning Authority and other bodies with regards to the planning and transport implications of major development proposals through the county
• Responsibility for negotiating innovative Section 106 and 278 Agreements with developers and consultants on selected applications to ensure that new development is adequately served by all modes of transport. Assisting with the negotiation on strategic development proposals. It is also a responsibility to work closely the Council’s Legal Practice over the drafting and completion of legal agreements with land owners.

• Starting date for the position is 28/10/2020

• Duration: 6 months with possible extension
• IR35 Status will be determined once a suitable candidate has been selected.
